# Fun Facts on Indian Stock Market
The stock market deals with buying and selling of the stocks. There are various markets in all over the world like NSE and BSE where the stocks, equity, bonds, FnO, securities and Mutual Funds can be bought. The word 'stock' came from a company owned by P. J. Stock and named as 'Stocks'.

Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) also known as the biggest stock exchange in terms of the number of companies listed. It has over 5000 companies listed on it.

BSE is also the oldest stock exchange in India started in 1875.

When the Master blaster Sachin Tendulkar used to play International Cricket, his dismissal from the pitch adversely affected the Indian stock market that day.
A study by economists Vinod Mishra and Russell Smyth showed that when India wins a match, the Nifty Index is flat and when the India losses a match the Nifty Index falls by 0.23% but when Sachin Tendulkar walks off the pitch, the Nifty Index falls hugely by almost 20%.
